I did all the secondary profession quests today, and the one's i liked the best were mes/ele/monk/nec
it was down to nec/ele
and I figured nec has more chance to heal, and do damage...so i chose nec

You know something? I think the profession changer NPC should have the option of REMOVING the secondary profesion if you want too. I mean to go PURE whatever!!! You can do it in PVP, so why not in PvE too? 1/2 the time I never use my 2nd profession anyway. Especially when I'm stuck monking...

Great Avatar HT... it sure would make it a lot easier in some cases without that 2nd... I can't decide if I want to go /mo or /n either...
The /n would do better damage than a /mo, but would there be any reason to do a 55 ritualist build in the future?

I chose Elem as the secondary for my Rit. I plan on using the Rit lightning attacks with the elem ones. Also I want to see how the Rit Spirts and Wards work together.
I was going to pick monk originally but I dont want to get stuck as a healer. I already have a Monk Primary.

For some strange odd reason I choose mesmer for my rit and I cant really find anything to go along with it the more I think about it the more I want Elem cause I want to put the spirits up and maybe put wards and stuff around them making it harder to hti and stuff and with union should be pretty good keeping them alive but I went back to where in there pre and tired to change it and they wouldnt let me it made me so mad Im thinking about going all the way back to kryta and going to heros and having someone run me there but I want to keep ahead to so has anyone found a area where you can change your secondary yet in factions

A very difficult decision for me personally.
Not to oversimplify (since there are many variations that you could develop and I'll probably get slammed for trying to genericize these)...
Rit/N - primarily a minion master
Rit/Mo - primarily a healer/protection
Rit/R - primarily a spirit spammer
Rit/Me - mostly for energy stealing to help keep rituals up
Rit/E - primarily for air spiker
I'm having a hard time finding a good use for Rit/W or Rit/A - anyone have some decent ideas for playing these?

I plan on mes as my second, some for energy stealing, but really more for mantra of concentration or resolve for those long cast times.
So far I haven't seen any wards or spells that will protect or heal a spirit.

A nooby question, but Is it possible to change your second profession throughout the game if you happen to not like it?

To the OP:
I went Rt/N for flexibility. It allows you to play a strong support character, as well as MM, as well as blood/lightning spike. It've overall quite versatile.
And if all else fails.
Plague Touch.

I have not pick my secondary yet but i think there is not other way than Ele. If you combine that lightning porwer with the ele power that would be a masacre. also u have those spirits to back u up in the middle of the battle hum u are untouchable.

Interesting group of posts here. There are many ways to play any class but to me the Ritualist seems to have alot more flexibility.
I am Rt/N and can think of ways to play MM, healer, protector and damager with it.
I thought about Rt/Mo but then thought about the pugs always wanting you to heal, heal, heal and whining when they die cuz it is always the healers fault they are stupid. Soo...pugs drove me away from anything that looks like a healer even though I can play one with the Necro secondary. The immature players probably won't recognize the Rit as a healer so I hope it cuts down on the whining.

I wanted to go a crazy route, and I went Rt/W. It is actually going ok so far. I use alot of the calls like "Shield Up" to aid my team. And there is always Bonnettis for the energy woes.

I went with Rt/E since i am mostly spiking. I tried the Boon of Creation MM build and I couldnt get used to it, so I switched to ele and I like it much better.

Does anybody happen to know the most effective secondary proffession for a solo build for a rit and a tvt build? would it be rit/mo for solo and rit/nec for tvt?
